On December 15th , Stewart Plumbing a handful of other local businesses sponsored an event to benefit the Hernando Parks and Recreation Foundation. The event was a formal concert by the Mississippi Youth Chamber Orchestra and the Germantown Symphony Orchestra.
Over 200 tickets were sold, and all proceeds went to the great local cause. The Hernando Parks and Recreation Foundation plans to invigorate the Hernando area with new park facilities, and keep the existing ones updated, safe, and clean. After a very elegant hors d’oeuvres party at the historic Banks Mansion hosted by the Hernando Arts Council, attendees headed to the Hernando Performing Arts center for the concert. The event was kicked off by Les Green sharing a word on behalf of association, as well as thanking the sponsors for their generosity. Mr. Green then introduced the Mississippi Youth Chamber Orchestra led by Peter Whitham who played selections from a repertoire of classical pieces. As they exited the stage to a standing ovation, the set quickly changed to accommodate the Germantown Symphony Orchestra, who played for over an hour with a set of classical pieces, and a set of sing-along holiday pieces.
The event was a success for the Parks and Recreation Foundation, and Stewart Plumbing is proud to have been able to be a contributing part of the event.
